**What's The Role**



The Sales Engineer supports B2B sales productivity and deal flow by securing the technical closure of complex, enterprise-grade ICT solutions.

This role necessitates close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Sales, Network Engineering, Solution Architecture, Implementation, and Technical Support—to ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with the client’s business and operational requirements.

The Sales Engineer is responsible for articulating the value proposition of advanced technologies such as SD-WAN, Unified Communications, Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and Cybersecurity frameworks, while securing buy-in from key technical stakeholders within customer organizations.

The Sales Engineer is responsible for achieving a profit and productivity quota made up of the combined expectations of the sales resources, the market, and B2B channel.

Reporting to the Sales Engineering Manager, the Sales Engineer supports the B2B Sales team.



**What You'll Do**



**Summary of Essential Job Functions:**



+ Works deals assigned to the B2B Sales team, prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit, or as directed by the Sales Engineering Manager.

+ Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assesses customers' met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both customer and firm.

+ Prepares technical and commercial proposals, including solution diagrams, sizing, and support documentation.

+ Designs technical architectures based on the company's catalogue, ensuring scalability, feasibility, and alignment with company policies.

+ Creates business cases for complex and non-standard solutions aligned with the commercial strategy for pricing, ensuring customer's costs and benefits alignment.

+ Guarantees the quality of the customer experience by designing high-performance, reliable, and secure solutions.

Acts as technical support when needed by the implementation team.

+ Participates in RFI/RFP responses and consultative sales processes to ensure proper technical design across the B2B catalogue (including mobile).

+ Partners with central architects when identifying special requirements or large complex bids.

+ Acts as a key liaison between Sales, Product Management, and Implementation Teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment.

+ Interacts with the product teams to update the current product catalogue with new market requirements in order to pursue a standardized catalogue of services.

+ Secures commitments from customers’ technical teams needed to ensure a deal’s technical closure.

+ Leads compelling customer presentations tailored to diverse stakeholder groups, while actively uncovering and advancing new business opportunities within the client organization, collaborating with the B2B sales team.

+ Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth through the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in assigned product lines, market areas, channels, or other B2B teams being supported.

+ Provides training to the B2B Sales team to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.

+ Monitors customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks to deal closure.

+ Proactively keeps up to date with relevant and emerging technologies, such as Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity, SD-WAN, Security, and virtualization.



**What You'll Need**



Minimum Bachelor of Science in Computing or closely related field from an accredited institution

Professional certifications in the following fields would be preferred and an asset.

o Cisco CCNA/CCNP,

o Fortinet NSE,

o Microsoft Azure Administrator

o AWS Certified Solutions Architect

o CompTiA Network+, Securityo Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

• Minimum of 3 year’s industry experience; sales or sales engineering experience in a business to business or large/strategic customer segment.

• Proven experience in designing enterprise network solutions (e.g., WAN, SD-WAN, Internet, enterprise connectivity).

• Experience in designing Unified Communications solutions (Premise and cloud-based PBX).

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware or similar).

• Exposure to cybersecurity disciplines such as:

o Network Security

o Firewall and Perimeter Defence

o Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

o Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)

o Identity and Access Management (IAM)

o Zero Trust Architecture

o Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with high attention to detail.

• Strong data analytics, reporting and interpretation experience compiling large amounts of data into an understandable format to support problem solving and decision making across multiple product lines and on a regional scale.

• Experience working with a CRM system to collect and analyze sales data

• Ability to work effectively in teams distributed regionally and strong internal-company relationships.

• Understanding of competitive product and solution landscape and can articulate tradeoffs between various competitive products.

• PC and standard PC application proficiency



**Skills**

• Possess technical acumen in Networking, Security and Managed Services architecture.

• Possess business acumen that would contribute to business and product planning and customer strategy.

• Ability to design secure, robust, and scalable architectures integrating connectivity, cloud, and

security components, with consideration to Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity (if required)

• Ability to drive ideas from concept to completion through superior organizational, project management, and team leadership skills
